The Dead Living Church: The Original Concept of...

The Dead-Living Church re-defines the concept of church (the true Ekklesia), her global positioning and her responsibilities according to the original intent of God. Jesus' declaration in Matthew 16, 'I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it' far outweighs the theological assumptions and religious beliefs about what church is supposed to be. This book is not a product of professionalism; it is a prophetic release by the Spirit of the living God. The Church is not a denominational gathering of religious people, but the Ekklesia, the people called for an assignment, the assembly of legislating on behalf of God on earth. This book will take you through a journey. Its intent assuredly will awaken your spirit man to experience a paradigm shift from "Churchianity" to that which is God's original intention. 1. Upon this rock, I will build my.... Church - the central identifying word that encompasses the entire religious spectrum. It is the buildings we go to, the sectarian ideology we adhere to, it is the core of our spiritual identity. Church - the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, the called-out ones. Church - Evangelical, Pentecostal, Catholic, and Non-Denominational. Church - the guardian of doctrine, the ark for lost souls, the social bastion for the righteous. We have embraced and perpetuated a culture around this single word. A word never spoken by Jesus Christ. Church - a word that should have never existed for believers.  In this book, Tim Kurtz explores the word "church". Leaving Church Becoming Ekklesia reveals what Jesus really said He would build. He never said He would build a church. Jesus is building His ekklesia. When you understand this truth, you will want to embrace your true identity in Christ, and be among those who turn the world upside down. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ron Allan. It's no secret that the church today has lost its influence in culture. But why? With the technology, affluence, and knowledge we have today, why are we less effective than the first-century church - which didn't have social media or fancy buildings or professional pastors or even religious freedom? What are we missing? In this vital, eye-opening book, best-selling author Ed Silvoso digs into Scripture, unearthing Jesus' true design for his church - his Ekklesia. He shows how the early church was a radical, countercultural force of people who transformed the hostile, pagan places in which they lived. Here Dr. Silvoso shows how we, in the midst of the social, economic, political, and moral chaos in our world today, can once again become the revolutionary, transformational, life-giving Ekklesia Jesus called us to be. This book reveals what heaven expects from the church. It reveals what Jesus meant by "I will build my church". It is not a critique but a standard of spiritual measurement and divine alignment as to the definition of a true church. The true church (The Ekklesia) is not a denominational gathering of any kind, whether orthodox, charismatic, or Pentecostal. The true church is one that has placed primacy on building the dispensational temple (the man) only according to God's pattern. This book will be a great eye opener for you. You will no longer strive in the flesh anymore after going through this book. The issues of competition, comparison, sense of inferiority, and superiority complex, which are some of the distractions and strategies of the enemy, will be exposed. Your work and ministry with God will never remain the same. You can't listen to this book and still retain your old mentality and operating system. Whatever you are building for the Lord from now on shall be to the Lord's glory and according to his specifications. Personal agendas will be given up. Deeper truths and insights are made available in this book. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Bolton Marsh. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/051249/bk_acx0_051249_sample.mp3. Focusing on the early church during the 50 years that followed the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, The Emerging Ekklesia is a chapter-by-chapter reflection on the New Testament from Acts 1 through the book of Jude. Meant to be listened as a companion to the actual biblical text, it's filled with the author's personal insights, developed over a period of 60 years. Including numerous quotations from the New Testament, observations from early church fathers, and personal anecdotes from the author's 40-year experience with grassroots house churches, it spotlights the vigor and growth of early Christianity and explores the emergence of the church under the leadership of Jesus' teachings and the work of the Holy Spirit."You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22) 1. Language: English. Narrator: David Pickering. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/147113/bk_acx0_147113_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.

Completing Christ's Afflictions

What is the relationship between the preeminent, cosmos-reconciling 'Christ' of Col 1:15-20 and the imprisoned 'Paul' of 1:24-29, who enigmatically 'completes' the former's afflictions as he declares to 'every person' the mystery, long concealed but only now revealed by Israel's God to his holy ones? After finding solid exegetical ground through an unprecedented and exhaustive study of the rare verb antanapleroo (in 1.24), Bruce Clark tackles this most intriguing, if challenging question. He argues that Col 1, in accord with 2 Cor 5:18-6:4, presents Paul as the utterly unique diakonos ('minister') of the universal ekklesia and, therefore, as one whose afflictions uniquely complete Christ's own, so that together, revealing the righteousness of God, they initiate the divine reconciliation of 'all things.'

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The ecclesia or ekklesia was the principal assembly of the democracy of ancient Athens during its "Golden Age" (480 404 BCE). It was the popular assembly, opened to all male citizens over the age of 30 by Solon in 594 BC meaning that all classes of citizens in Athens were able to participate, even the thetes. The ecclesia opened the doors for all citizens, regardless of class, to nominate and vote for magistrates indirectly voting for the Areopagus have the final decision on legislation, war and peace, and have the right to call magistrates to account after their year of office. In the 5th century BC their numbers amounted to about 43,000 people. However, only those wealthy enough to spend much of their time away from home would have been able to participate until Pericles' reforms in early 451-2 BCE allowing payment for jurors. The assembly was responsible for declaring war, military strategy, and electing strategoi and other officials. It originally met once every month, but later it met three or four times per month.

Paul's Teaching on the Pneumatika in 1 Corinthi...

In this study, Soeng Yu Li explores Paul's understanding of the charismata in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and why the apostle focuses on the charisma of prophecy in 1 Corinthians 14. After demonstrating that the semantic relationship between charismata and pneumatika is to be understood as meronymy, the author then offers an exegesis of 1 Corinthians 12-14 from a meronymic point of view. In 1 Corinthians 12-14, Paul teaches about the topic pneumatika, the things that characterize the life of the pneumatikoi. Paul teaches the Corinthians that as pneumatikoi, both their behaviour and their practice of their apportioned charismata must be characterized by agape. Only in this way can they build up the ekklesia in the here and now towards the promised eschatological future. To illustrate his teaching, Paul uses prophecy as the paradigm of ta charismata ta meizona for the gathered ekklesia living in the future-oriented present.
